UNIVERSITY OF PIRAEUS RESEARCH CENTER
University Pireaus Reseach Center (UPRC) provides administration and technological support to basic and applied research carried out by the teaching staff of the University of Piraeus in or outside European Union frameworks. It is characterized by the following features.
The participating group from the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus has significant experience in the areas of Security, e-Governments, Network Technologies, E-Learning, Web-based Intelligent Education and Software Engineering. Lecturer Constantinos Patsakis (male) holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from University of Athens, Greece and an M.Sc. in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London. He obtained his PhD in Cryptography and Malware from Department of Informatics of University of Piraeus. His main areas of research include cryptography, security, privacy, data and communication anonymisation. He has made more than 50 publications in peer reviewed international conferences and journals and he has been teaching computer science courses in European universities. Dr Patsakis has worked in the industry for more than 10 years as a freelance developer and security consultant. He has participated in several national (Greek, Spanish, Catalan and Irish) and European R&D projects. Additionally, he has worked as researcher at the CRISES Research Group and the UNESCO Chair in Data Privacy at
the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) of Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain and as a research fellow at Trinity College, Dublin Ireland.
